Freely Moving
Freely Moving was formed in it's first incarnation in 2005 by two old school chums Keiran and Wyl. Keiran and Wyl pissed around with their guitars and keyboards just like they had done every single lunch time while they were at school and realised that unlike when they were in school they could now write some pretty bonza songs. Continuing the education theme, Keiran thought of his old drummer boy pal from college Phil, who just happened to be in the area and aching to hit things.
So it happened. Freely Moving started gigging as a three piece in September 2005 and played a whole bunch of venues in Manchester, Leeds and London. They recorded an EP called Secret Songs which wasn't much of a secret, but captured the imagination of a loyal band of Freely Movers on several continents who loved nothing more than to freely move to the freely moving music of the band called Freely Moving. It was all going oh so well until...
OH NO! While out one day teasing a killer whale with his superior literary prowess, Wyl was eaten (he had it coming). And so the long winter of Freely Static began. Keiran and Phil were forced to work as Navvies building ships and digging canals for the rich people who could afford to travel by narrowboat. UNTIL... in a flash of inspiration Keiran and Phil saw the path back to Freely Moving. In an unholy (not to mention unlikely) complication of the kind which we won't go into here, Keiran and Phil gave birth to Pete and Mike! Two completely new human beings who could join the band and start to bash out some shit hot rock n roll again. Get in.
Mike is a man with a motto (don't ask what it is, it's plain weird), and a BASS. Pete is a man who runs a pathetic parade of perambulating panthers (but he won't speak of it publicly), and plays the KEYBOARD. Together we now hold the position of TOP BAND IN THE WORLD (yes somebody told me that once so it is true), and we are more pounding and damn catchy than ever before. Gone is anything that was rubbish and HERE is everything that is so much better than what it was before it was what it is now.
Freely Moving have recently been featured at the virtual NOISE festival, as one of their top music submissions, and in the pipeline is a CD of new songs which is our next big project. Look out for us at venues across the country, the year of Freely Moving begins...
Introducing the band
Keiran
Piano, guitars and lead vocals. Also filmmaker, music producer and photographer. Influences include U2, Stevie Wonder, BB King, Clapton, Pete Townshend, Belle and Sebastian and Elton John. Likes fireworks, waterparks and Steven Fry. Dislikes ceilidhs and people correcting his grammar.

Phil
Drums and backing vocals. History Phil is a self-made drummer, who has been hitting the skins (really hard) for 11 years. After a stint in Revolution 9 and session drumming for various artists he was approached by Freely Moving after they heard about his unrivalled talent for hitting things hard and fast. Having become disillusioned with the strength of standard wooden sticks he moved to using carbon fibre sticks. He breaks these regularly too. Influences include Dave Grohl, John Bonham and Animals from the Muppets. Likes Dublin, Jack Daniels and films. Dislikes Monty Python, wooden drumsticks, tuna and pizza toppings.
