Freely Moving minus one...
Posted by - 07/06/2007
Sad news to report…
Mikey has decided to leave the good ship Freely Moving.
We’d like to take this opportunity to wish him all the best for his future endeavours, whatever they may be.
This means we need a shiny, sparkly brand new bass player. Do you know a bass player? Are you in fact a bass player? Do you know someone who claims to be a bass player? Visit our contacts page and get in touch, we want to hear from you!!!
Sad times, but we will push on, find someone new and march on to glory, and greatness…
Speak to you all again soon

Hey folks, we trust this finds you well…
Well, we found out today that the Fopp gig we had lined up for the 16th of this month has now been cancelled. They are no longer allowed to put on live entertainment. Bit of a stinker really, we were looking forward to it, but this actually gives us more time to work on the new CD, which we know your all dying to hear!!
Thats about it for now,
More news as and when it happens!!!

New News!
Posted by Keiran - 07/05/2007
Hello people
Just a quick one to say thanks to our new friends at Revolution FM for taking the time to play Dreaming on air yesterday. We’re currently in talks to make a live appearance on Jeff Hordley’s show on a Sunday afternoon sometime soon. Keep you all posted.
Also, apologies for cancelling the Plastic Surgery gig last weekend, it was something that couldn’t be avoided. Fopp and Night and Day gigs are still on so check out our gig page for more info.
Finally, our new material’s coming along wonderfully well… we can’t wait to unleash on your senses, your’re gonna love it!
That’s all for now folks, promise to update this more often, especially if we manage to get a new website up and running.
Hope this finds you well

Abode last night...
Posted by - 29/03/2007
Just wanted to say a quick thankyou to those who came down to Abode last night to boogie with us. We had a great time, and hope ya’ll did too. Also, just to tell you a bit about whats going on in camp Freely Moving…
Well, next week we start recording new material…we’re all dead excited about it. It’ll be the first time we’ve recorded together as the new(ish) Freely Moving. When its finished its gonna knock your socks right off, if your not wearing socks when you listen to it, god help your feet…so… last night was the last time you’ll see us until May when the songs will (hopefully) be finished and ready to release into the wild. At which point you’ll see us everywhere, even in your dreams, so expect new songs and plenty of opportunities to come and see us in action…
Big Kiss

We should be playing in beautiful Chorlton next month, just waiting for that to be confirmed. See you all spoon x

It’s about time eh?
Just a quick one to let you know we are playing at Tiger Lounge (5 Cooper Street, Manchester, M2 2FW) this Monday 15th jan. There are several ace bands on, the night is organised by a good mate of ours who has impeccable taste (of course) so it should be a reet larf. Entrance is FREE so let’s kick off the week with a good cheap boogie. Things should be winding up around 8:30, hope to see you there.
PS – Listen out for us on Wythenshawe Fm 97.2 in the Manchester area :)

Check out the Noise Festival website by clicking this link. Noise is an Online arts festival which is showcasing all kinds of digital art by under 25s, there is a lot going on so do go have a look. Freely Moving’s music can be heard on the Noise Player which is linked to from their home page.

Brace yourselves... we're back
Posted by Keiran - 15/09/2006
Hey hey there, it’s been a while, we’ve had a break and something is now very much brewing in Freely Moving towers. It smells a lot like a new band line up with a new bassist and keyboardist, yes Freely Moving have multiplied and are now a four piece.
So get your glad rags laundered, practice those funky moves once more because we will soon be bounding and smashing our way to a venue near you, and you wouldn’t want to miss THAT would you now? New songs, new faces, new attitude, new sounds… get ready :)
STOP! ....carry on
Posted by Keiran - 04/06/2006
Freely Moving pause. You guys, I’m afraid the rumor mill is grinding several grains of truth. Bass master Wyl is indeed moving to London, which means that for the time being he will no longer be able to pluck with Freely Moving. He may well be back, but this is a certainty about which none of us can be certain about for the time being.
But no worries friends! This is not the end, but a new beginning! We are going to take this opportunity to have a revamp-overhaul-spring-clean-jollygoodhoover (we may even bath Phil) and we are now quite officially looking for a replacement BASS MASTER. Ideally one who can sing, dance, play keyboard and guitar whilst juggling chickens as well. So please spread the word…
FREELY MOVING ARE LOOKING FOR A NEW BASSIST!
If you are he she or it, GET IN TOUCH AND LETS HAVE A BASH. If you know of he she or it, GET THEM IN TOUCH AND LETS HAVE A BASH. Spread the word far and wide that Freely Moving are launching BASS IDOL, aka the BASS FACTOR. There’s not a moment to lose – email your votes (bassists) to freelymoving@hotmail.com , or text your votes (bassists) to 07723607053. Texts charged ar normal network rates, bassists charged similarly no doubt. This is growing a little absurd, i feel peculiar, i need a bassist. Bring me one. Go now. Go. Run. FASTER!
Freely Moving playing (but not playing late) at the Late Rooms
Posted by Wyl - 11/05/2006
Hey all of you crazies, hipsters, mobsters, hippies and mods,
Freely Moving are playing at the Late Rooms in Peter Street,
Manchester on 17 May. But you know what the really crazy thing is? We
aren’t even playing that late, so all of you workers out there can
come down.
We will be on stage at 9pm, but doors open at 8, so get there early to
reserve your place at the front from which to shout, scream,
gesticulate wildly or just to look on with a knowing smile or smirk.
Late Rooms is a great venue and someof the other bands look fairly
good too (although obviously not as accomplished and downright cool as
us)
It’s £4 entry with a flier from either Wyl, Keiran or Phil (let us
know how many you want us to save and we will make sure we have plenty
available for you).
So to sum up – Freely Moving playing (but not playing late) at the
Late Rooms on 17 May (next Wednesday) – See you down there.
Love and hugs,
Freely Moving
Set the dial to LEEDS
Posted by Wyl - 24/04/2006
After our collision with Jabez Clegg (was it just me or was that room a
little small for our volume?) we are careering towards this Thursday’s
Joseph’s Well gig (in Leeds for all those of you who don’t already know)
with reckless abandon.
You know it’s a good idea – get yourselves a ticket to Leeds (unless you
live there in which case you can use the money you save to get a taxi!),
give our ticket office a ring on 07870 318 708 and get your funky ass down
to Joseph’s Well for a night of debauched fripper, wicked tunes and the odd
light ale as liquid interspersal.
See you all down there.
Tickets now available!
Posted by Keiran - 07/04/2006
Tickets for our forthcoming gig in Leeds @ Joseph’s Well on Thurs 27th April are now available. Just call Matt on the Freely Moving ticket hotline to reserve yours – 07870318708
But don’t forget – before Leeds we are playing Jabez Clegg in Manchester on Thurs 20th April, for which you can get discount flyers from us now, we will be emailing these to all on the mailing list but you won’t print them out will you? You never do :) Never mind, you can get them from us in person or we can post them to you, just drop us an email: freelymoving@gmail.com
Big thanks...
Posted by Keiran - 23/03/2006
To all who showed up en force last Friday at good old Night and Day. What a wild night, hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. See you all next time at Jabez in April! Kung foooo…
Come in green and drink the black stuff
Posted by Will - 06/03/2006
After the roaring success of recent gigs at The Academy and London’s West One Four, Freely Moving are to play Manchester’s superb Night and Day Cafe on St Patrick’s Day evening, alongside Charlotte with Robots, Exit State, Rush to the Yukon and The Mode.
It promises to be one of the best yet with a great line-up, and IT’S ON A FRIDAY, so that and the fact it’s everyone’s favourite patron saint’s drinking day means it will be a gig not to forget (or to forget completely depending on how much Guinness you choose to drink)
Tickets are £5 with a flier (get them from us, either as an e-mail or in person).
If you didn't know it then...

The One Armed Foo Poodles are ill. Long live the One Armed Foo Poodles – scourge of tempestuous hair tonics and winners of the Calcutta Cup.
London Calling
Posted by Wyl - 21/02/2006
Just a quick reminder that Freely Moving play West One Four in West Kensington on Thursday evening for their debut London date, along with White Vinyl, Circle of One and Sweet City Fire – it’s going to be a stormer.
Get your asses down if you’re in the London area on Thursday – if the response we got at Manchester Academy is anything to go by it promises to be a date not to miss.
Wow, that was fun :)
Posted by Wyl - 16/02/2006
We’re just back in from our Academy gig – on plenty of a high, and that’s all down to you lot who came down and supported us – you’re learning the words, we noticed ;)
If you’re reading this (which you are) head straight over to the Guestbook section and say ‘erro.
If you’ve got a myspace, or even if you haven’t look us up too – we can be found, rather predictably under myspace.com/freelymoving.
Spread the love and keep it Freely Moving.
p.s. – Long live the One Armed Foo Poodles :)

Photo Call
Posted by Will - 14/01/2006
We have posted the results of our first photo shoot onto the Photos section of the website. These are the same shots that are winging their way to radio stations and record companies all over the country right this minute.
We’re quite impressed with the results, and are now basking in the narcissistic pleasure of being able to check ourselves out on the web. Let us know what you think in the guestbook.
To see us in the flesh get yourself down to the Roadhouse on Thursday evening where we are the headline act of an evening of great music with the Cyclones, the Hawthorns and Sanity Lost.
Brand new Freely Moving track for you to download.
Posted by Keiran - 23/12/2005
Merry Christmas to everyone who has supported us over the last few months. There are far too many thanks to make, so we decided as a present to all of you we would put up a new track, Dreaming, for you to download.
Hot from the studio, the track was finished about 10 minutes ago – we hope you enjoy. As always, feel free to pass it on, make copies and spread the love.
p.s Look out for the new photo section appearing shortly with pics from recent gigs and our latest (well, first) photoshoot.
New Song Download! Tip Of Your Tongue
Posted by Keiran - 21/12/2005
Freely Moving are re-releasing their first recording Tip of Your Tongue as a free download on Freelymoving.com after recent requests from fans. Anyone who has been to one of our gigs will know it’s a fast-paced, guitar-driven, hard-rocking kick you in the nuts song and if it’s not already, it will soon be on the tip of your tongue.
As with all the other free downloads on the site we ask you to pass it round and share the love. And let us know what you think of it in the Freely Moving guestbook.
Freely Moving are going back into the studio!
Posted by Wyl - 04/12/2005
Freely Moving are going back into the studio to record two new tracks, the recently aired Ambleberry and another yet to be decided. If you want to get involved in deciding which track to record next get in touch via our contacts page or make your views known in the guestbook, and if you can’t remember the song name, just describe it, and that way we get a laugh at least.
Onward and Upward - New venue confirmed
Posted by Wyl - 25/11/2005
Freely Moving have found a new venue for their gig on Tuesday 29 November. Within hours of the cancellation from the Blue Cat, they secured a gig at Stockport’s Bull’s Head. Everything else stays the same, the free entry, the beer, the band, so see you there.
Doors open at 8pm (although the bar is open all day if you want to get an early start) and the entertainments begin at 9pm, Bull’s Head, Market Place, Stockport. Pass the word round – we wouldn’t wish anyone to have to turn up to the Blue Cat.
Blue Cat gig cancelled!
Posted by Wyl - 25/11/2005
The Freely Moving gig at Blue Cat Cafe planned for Tuesday 28 November has been cancelled at the last moment. We are searching for a new venue for the gig on Tuesday evening at the moment and will keep you informed – watch this space. In the meantime pass the word around and avoid the Blue Cat! We are trying our best to sort another venue out and will let you know as soon as we manage to get one.
On a brighter note, Freely Moving are returning to the studio to record new tracks after requests from fans, so keep your eyes on the downloads page.
After the recent gigs at Thirsty Scholar and Baker’s Vaults we have been really pleased with the response to the live show and we appreciate all the messages and positive feedback we have been getting. If you are looking to get involved and want to earn our undying gratitude we would love it if you spread the word about the shows, the website and the downloads as much as you can – you seem to be doing a sterling job already.
Freely Moving Debut Ep - Secret Songs
Posted by Keiran - 16/11/2005
After three weeks in production our debut EP, Secret Songs is now complete. We’re all dead chuffed with it, we hope you guys will be too. We recorded it partly in a studio in Ancoats, partly at home in Gee Cross and Godley. The three songs are Eyes, a powerful building track which will hopefully be ringing in your head for the forseeable future: World Stopped, a track we’ve been playing live for a while now which we’ve polished up for the recorded version: and Empty Of Favours, a kind of ballad about those rubbish times when you can’t get her/him out of your head. You can listen to the whole thing on this site, go to the music bit, or you can buy a swanky proper-professional-like CD from us for a pityfully small price at our next gig. We will hopefully be selling it online soon too – keep you posted. Let us know what you think, sign the guestbook or send us an email. We want to hear from you! Adieu for now.
